Tokyo Disneyland
Of all the cultural delights Tokyo has to offer we opted for a thick slice of Americana this week with a trip to Disneyland! Well, it's on our train line and I'm never likely to go to a Disney resort again so we thought why not! I found it a most relaxing day, walking up to the gates I felt like Clark W. Griswald approaching Wally World! Thankfully it was open and once inside everything was nicely laid out, in English and very well organised with Fast Passes so you could jump the queues! We took a packed lunch and had a picnic on Tom Sawyer Island and went on all the big rides (it's got nothing on Alton Towers). My favourite bit was walking around Toontown, Mickey's house and Donald's boat and stuff. The parades were funny, very spectacular and the Japanese kids love it.

Check out the cute kids on the trolley in the background!

Have you ever asked anyone why the staple school uniform is based on a naval theme?
Any decisions about when you're back in Blighty?
Nice haircut Julie, you look very lovely.
Disneyland looks surprisingly plesant, did you spend much time queueing? We did when we went to legoland.
Good question about the nautical school uniforms tony and gill. Why is that?

Hello,
There wasn't much queueing because they have this system where if there's a massive queue for a ride you can take a fast pass ticket with a time on it, come back at that time and go straight to the front of the queue! but we did have to queue for Buzz's Astro Blasters. Sam would have loved it!
We should be back in Blighty 15th August at 17.15, after that it's a bit vague.
As for the uniforms, I have no idea? Some of the skirts are very short.

Sorry, I did read the blog honestly! It just took me back to legoland and the day of queueing. So why does anyone queue if they can all just get fast passes?
Ann
Good question Ann, glad you asked. You can only have one fast pass at a time and you have to wait at least an hour to first use it. So you can jump every queue but only go on one ride an hour. It seemed to work well. Kids who want to go on everything twice queue up. Uniforms...I'm going to work on getting some more examples for the blog but Julie doesn't like me photographing strangers. Kieran
Especially not strangers in short skirts, who happen to be schoolgirls, I would imagine.
